New York Yankees at Boston Red Sox
- Leg 1: Yankees Over 4.5 Runs (-125)
- Leg 2: Over 9.5 Total Runs (-105)
- Leg 3: Red Sox Over 4.5 Runs (-105)
On Saturday night, the Yankees experienced some of their usual problems but with different results. Once again, the pitching failed; Stroman went 3.2 innings and they gave up the lead twice. However, the offense had another productive day, including a three-run tenth, to grab a much-needed win and a chance to win a series.
Winning is something they haven’t done much of in a few weeks, as they are 11-23 and have won just one of their last 11 series. They made headlines on Saturday by acquiring Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Marlins, but they definitely need bullpen help.
Carlos Rodon has struggled during this stretch. Although he finally got a win in his last start against the Orioles, the Yankees had lost the previous five outings with a 9.67 ERA, including against the Red Sox.
Boston has gone in a completely different direction than New York during this same stretch. They are 21-14 and went from possibly unloading players to instead bolstering their roster, as you saw with bringing back James Paxton.
The pitching has allowed 18 runs in this series, and despite their success, it’s hindered them, as they have a 4.59 ERA in the last 33 games. Tanner Houck has been their best starter this season, leading the rotation in WAR and ERA.
We’ve seen high-scoring games between these two teams, so let’s go all in on it.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Houston Astros
- Leg 1: Dodgers Moneyline (-102)
- Leg 2: Over 9 Total Runs (-105)
- Leg 3: Spencer Arrighetti Over 4.5 Hits Allowed (-140)
The Astros are on the verge of a sweep of their 2017 World Series counterpart. It’s been an incredible turnaround for Houston, as it looked like it would be a down year early on, but they are 22-9 in the last 31 games and went from ten games out of first to holding down the lead in the American League West. In that same span, they are third in batting average (.272) and sixth in on-base percentage (.329).
Spencer Arrighetti has struggled for most of the season but has been far better over his last three starts with a 3.71 ERA. Unfortunately, the Astros haven’t given him much run support, and they’ve lost those last three games.
It seems the Dodgers cannot afford to lose too much because the Padres have won seven straight and are within 5.5 games.
They still have the best offense in baseball as they lead the league in on-base percentage (.334), are second in slugging (.436), and fourth in runs per game.
Los Angeles’ No. 4 prospect River Ryan’s MLB debut against the Giants went well. He pitched 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs.
This will be a much bigger challenge for Ryan in his second start, and although Arrighetti has pitched better recently, he’s due for a regression against a top-tier lineup.
