While MLS and Inter Miami prepare themselves, alongside Lionel Messi, for the Leagues Cup game against Cruz Azul, rumours have circulated about a possible reunion between Messi and ex-teammate, Andrés Iniesta, another Barcelona legend who may touch down stateside. Sergio Busquets has arrived and Jordi Alba is heavily rumoured to be joining the club based in Fort Lauderdale.

This Thursday, the news outlet Offsider reported that Iniesta and Inter Miami had reached an agreement in principle for the World Cup winner to join The Herons, but nothing has yet been confirmed. According to various sources, including Gaston Edul of TyC Sports and César Luis Merlo, the ex-Barça player is actually nowhere near close to joining the MLS team.

Would Inter Miami pay to sign Iniesta?
At the same time, various journalists have in fact confirmed that the links between the player and club exist as Iniesta was in fact offered to Inter Miami, but the MLS team have not taken the decision whether to sign him or not as his arrival, at the moment, is not viable.
