Saturday’s Best Euro 2024 Bets

Georgia (+370) vs. Czech Republic (-125), DRAW (+265) | 2.5 (+100/-130)

Saturday’s action gets underway bright and early as Georgia (0-0-1) squares off against the Czech Republic (0-0-1) in a Group F clash. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. ET from Volksparkstadion, in Hamburg, Germany.

I’m going to play the under in Saturday’s opener as I’m not too confident in either of these offenses. Czechia did manage to score in their 2-1 loss to Portugal on Tuesday, but their expected goals (xG) was just 0.4. While Georgia, the 74th-ranked team in the FIFA rankings, isn’t anywhere near the same caliber of Portugal defensively, it’s still worrisome that the Czech offense only managed 0.4 xG.

On the flip side, the Czech Republic looked really solid defensively leading up to the tournament. They allowed an average of just 0.7 goals per match during their 6-1-0 run prior to the Euros. Georgia posted an xG mark of 1.4 in their 3-1 loss to Turkey, but they simply don’t possess the offensive talent that has me running to the window to bet an over in their match. They lost the possession battle handedly (56% to 44%) while registering only four shots on target against Turkey. Let’s play the under in this spot.

Bet: Under 2.5 (-130)

Turkey (+475) vs. Portugal (-175), DRAW (+330) | 2.5 (-140/+110)

The soccer continues with a midday clash in Group F as Turkey (1-0-0) squares off against Portugal (1-0-0). This match is set for 12:00 p.m. ET from BVB Stadion Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany.

There’s a lot on the line when these two unbeaten countries square off on Saturday afternoon. With that being said, I’m going to lay the goal and back Portugal to win in this spot. The Portuguese have been in impeccable form leading up to the tournament, and including their 2-1 victory over Czechia, they’re 7-0-0 in their last seven competitive matches. Over the seven-match span, they’ve out-scored the opposition 24-4!

Perhaps it’s the defense that’s most surprising. Over those seven matches, Roberto Martínez’s men have posted five clean sheets. Turkey’s coming off the 3-1 drubbing of Georgia, but something tells me they’ll have a much tougher time scoring against Portugal. With the top-end talent of Cristiano Ronaldo (130 international goals), Diogo Jota (14), Bruno Fernandes (22), and Bernardo Silva (11), I think the Portuguese will have plenty of opportunities to stretch this out to a multi-goal victory.

Bet: Portugal -1.0 (-110)

Belgium (-215) vs. Romania (+600), DRAW (+350) | 2.5 (-140/+110)

Saturday’s Euro 2024 nightcap comes in Group E, and it should be an excellent match as Belgium (0-0-1) looks to bounce back against Romania (1-0-0). This contest is set for 3:00 p.m. ET from Cologne Stadium in Köln, Germany.

Probably the biggest shocker of the tournament came on Monday when Slovakia stunned Belgium in a 1-0 contest. The Belgians posted an xG mark of 1.6 in their 1-0 shutout loss, which signals to me that they managed several quality scoring chances. They made 16 total shots (four on target) and controlled 60% of the possession. Ultimately, I think the experienced duo of Romelu Lukaku (85 international goals) and Kevin De Bruyne (27) should manage to create a few goals in this match. I’m going to take the over.

On the flip side, Romania ran up a 3-0 victory over Ukraine, posting an xG mark of 1.1 in the process. This will definitely be a tougher task, but I think the Tricolours will be able to score at least one goal. Over their last eight competitive matches (6-2-0), Romania has racked up 13 goals. That’s a respectable 1.6 goals per match. Look, I’m not saying Romania’s offense is good enough to make a run at winning the tournament, but I think they’ll have chances to contribute to the final score going over. Let’s sit back and root for offense in this one €“ give me the over!
