Top NBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (3/9)

We have a total of seven games on the National Basketball Association schedule on Saturday. One of the tips is at 4 p.m. ET between the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Clippers, so we won’t be including that one. The other six tips are at 7 p.m. ET or later, including the nationally televised battle between the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Saturday’s Best NBA Bets

Boston Celtics (-220) at Phoenix Suns (+184) | O/U 226.5 (-110/-110)

The Celtics (48-14) were on the short end of a marquee showdown against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, 115-109, as a 1.5-point favorite. After an 11-game winning streak, the C’s have dropped back-to-back games against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Nuggets on the road. They have failed to cover those games after a 6-0 against-the-spread (ATS) run, too.

Boston is still 3-1 SU/ATS in the past four tries against Western Conference foes, while the Over is also 3-1 in those games. Now, it faces another marquee opponent on the road against the Suns (36-26).

This is the first meeting this season between these two teams. Last season, the road team won and covered both of the meetings, with Boston winning a 125-98 laugher as a 2-point underdog on Dec. 7, 2022, in the most recent meeting in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix won 120-113 last time out against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, and it topped the aforementioned Nuggets 117-107 in overtime as an 8.5-point underdog on Monday. The Suns are just 1-4 ATS in the past five games, and 2-6 ATS in the previous eight contests.

Bet: Celtics -5.5 (-110)

San Antonio Spurs (+300) at Golden State Warriors (-375) | O/U 230 (-110/-110)

The Spurs (13-50) travel to meet the Warriors (33-28) at Chase Center in San Francisco in the second regular-season meeting between the teams. Golden State won the first meeting on Nov. 24 by a 118-112 count, as the Spurs cashed as 10.5-point underdogs with the Under (236.5) coming in.

San Antonio hit the Over (235.5) last time out in Sacramento on Thursday, going 4-1 ATS in the past five outings, while the Under is 4-2 in the past six games. The Under is also an amazing 14-4-1 in the past 19 contests for the Spurs.

For Golden State, it is coming off a 125-122 loss at home against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. The Warriors are still 4-2 ATS in the past six games and an outstanding 12-4 ATS in the past 16 outings. The Over cashed against the Bulls, but the Under is still 8-1 in the past nine outings, and 13-3 in the past 16 contests.

Bets: Under 230 Total Points (-110)

Toronto Raptors (-126) at Portland Trail Blazers (+108) | O/U 225 (-110/-110)

The Raptors (23-40) and Trail Blazers (17-45) do battle in the Pacific Northwest, and Portland looks for the regular-season series sweep. Portland picked up a 99-91 win in Toronto as a 10-point underdog as the Under (216) cashed on Oct. 30 near the beginning of the season.

Portland has picked up six wins in the past eight meetings in the series, while Portland holds a 4-2 ATS edge in the past six, with the Under cashing in each of the previous three battles.

Toronto has suffered four losses in the past five outings, while also going 1-4 ATS in that span. The Under is 3-1 in the previous four contests, too. For Portland, it has dropped three in a row, but it is 4-1 ATS in the past five outings, while the Over has cashed in the past three games. The trends for the total are all over the board, but back the Blazers, who have been hot against the number lately as well.
